Paint The Target

It’s that time of month again! And by that I mean the start of a new one! Celebrate new beginnings as we commemorate the weeks gone by. Your challenge for February was to paint models that were dual-wielding. No hand empty! No potential weapon-holding digits unaccounted for! Like hitting your foes with a stick? Why not two! Let’s have a look at this month’s entries and figure out who’s going to win something shiny in their mailbox from the Lost Hemisphere prize pool…

Last month’s winner, Big D, is terminalicious. Looks like someone cracked their copy of Space Hulk…

There’s overachieving, and then there’s overachieving… Wrath of Kings’ House Teknes is full of dual-wielding monstrosities, and Arakius70 got bizzay and decided to just paint all the things. All of them.

Autojack’s breaking the Infinity seal on the day with his Haqqislam Al Fasid. Combo-rifle in one hand and bazooka in the either? Why not!

Chris Weinstein’s Infinity entry is a lot prettier, complete with roses blooming beneath its feet.

From Dr Q, I’m told this Ninja All Stars Kaiken is Storm Shadow. I’m not convinced, but then, it *could* be a cunning ninja disguise…

Gramut’s Mangler comes with the most effective toothpick ever. Seriously. Pick your teeth with that thing once, and you’ll never have to pick your teeth ever again…

Miggy Sawdust dropped the Questing Knight version of Calico Kate from Relic Knights on our laps. Very timely, given that the Relic Knights 2.0 Kickstarter has dropped.

Shadowsword751 decided he needed a custom Arcanist, so took a Soulless Escort, added multi-tools, backpack, and of course, a soul. Please note that incredibly schmexy Lost Hemisphere logo Dragon Forge base while you’re at it…

And finally, Strigiform sent in a pair of Guild Ball Mason, who… waitaminute they’re not dual-wielding at all! Oh, hang on, there’s a second pic in the email submission…

Ah, much better! Nicely done, Strigiform, I don’t know why you even sent that first picture…

FEBRUARY WINNER!

To choose this month’s winner I painted numbers on a bunch of ping pong balls and tossed them in the dishwasher. I was totally going to declare the winner as whosever number was still legible, but the damn dishwasher’s too good at its job, so I rolled a dice instead. This month’s winner is: Shadowsword751! Send me an address at gdaybloke@losthemisphere.com and I’ll get something in the mail for you!

Can I also just say… I love the diversity this month. 40K, WM/H, Relic Knights, Guild Ball, Ninja All Stars, Infinity, Relic Knights Wrath of Kings… Paint what you love, people 🙂

MARCH CHALLENGE!

For March, let’s flip the tables. February was dual wielding, March is Bare Knuckle Brawlers! Unarmed doesn’t mean un-… um… -lethal! This month I want to see models that aren’t swinging anything heavier than a knuckle duster. Bonus non-points if your model isn’t holding anything at all! For once, it’s a goodthing to come up EMPTY HANDED!

Send in your pics of newly painted shinies to submissions@losthemisphere.com by Noon EST, March 28th. Deadline is deadline, people. Once more, one random participant will receive a little somethin’ somethin’ in the mail. You want somethin’? You gotta submit! Don’t forget to include your online handle! Oh, and if you can make the pics attachments to the emails rather than inline, that’d help me on the formatting end.

  1. Ooo. That base on Chris Weinstein’s infinity tag. Where’s that from? I love the roses, and would like to use those.
