GenCon Photodump 1: Privateer Press

Hi Losties! I’m back from GenCon, and have much to show you. It’ll be spaced out over the next few weeks as I wade through all the photos, but I thought we’d start with pics from the Privateer Press booth. Lost Hemisphere has been lucky to have a great relationship with Privateer for many years now, and visiting with the Privateer crew is always, without fail, one of the highlights of GenCon, regardless of what new, shiny goodness they’re releasing Of course, this year it was city-smashing Monsterpocalypse. I was fortunate enough to record some natterings with Oz, which will be shared with the unboxing of the starters… for now, for your visual enjoyment, Sightings at Privateer Press’s GenCon booth…

Day one, and the line is a-movin…

Monsterpocalypse Starters greeted eager patrons, with G.U.A.R.D. and the Planet Eaters being the first offerings.

A fine assortment of goodies awaited patrons, but turning around to the other side of the booth revealed…

… All the Crucible Guard models you could want!

What’s that, Scrutator Potentate Severius? You’d like to come home with me? Sigh, fine… Menoth wills it…

Doug Seacat, wordsmith extraordinaire!

John Swinkels had to keep all professional-faced, the boss was right there.

… but he was so happy to see that Severius was coming home from me, he smiled too 🙂

Will Shick took a break from MonPoc demos to inhale for a moment. I showed him my maximum-oxygen technique.

Dallas Kemp was working on models and chatting with folks in the queue, who watched him apply paint magic to a dinosaur.

Terra Khan! Not yet finished, but we got to see him go from primed model to terrifying lizard over the course of the con.

The demo table was, of course, glorious.

In glass we would see the Destroyers starter box models…

… the G.U.A.R.D. starter models…

And some Lords of Cthul! Tentacley goodness… evilness? Whatever… gimme!

Taken from some PP Staffer’s own collections were some alternate scheme G-Tanks…

… and a glorious pink Gorghadra!

Also spotted were some resin buildings that I’m told we’ll be able to nab later in the year…

Cyrenia stole many hearts. What a beautiful model… that may have wound up in my basket…

Painting Exemplars is still high on my shudder list, but with the Warders sneaking through the lines, it’s just a matter of time.

Who else is adding Cinerators back to their lists post-CID?

There he is… a nice, clean model destined to one day be Heirarch…

Black Anchor Heavy Industries were on display too. Yes, I have a Shrine of the Lawgiver. No, I haven’t painted it yet.

The Crucible Guard were on display as well, including Immoren’s own Dr Jekkyl analogy…

Locke, Queen of Fistbumps…

Convention Exclusives, from the Keg Protector to Rolling Bones Goreshade…

Mini-Crate models showcases some great alternate sculpts, but the big mini-crate news was…

… the introduction of the Legend of the Five Rings mini-crate! Time to get your samurai on… YORITOMO!!!

Just around the corner, Will Shick don’t need no chair to demo MonPoc!

Oz successfully intimidated this gent into demo’ing against me.

HAHAHAHA GORGHADRA!!!!!

“Hello, sir. Do you have a moment to talk about Urban Renewal?”

“Yes, please stand right here so I can throw you into one of these buildings…”

The reflections on the glass made it difficult to get good shots of most of the P3 Grand Master Painting Contest entries, but I snapped shots of some regardless… this Hurricane had light-up coils!

My Little Dracodile: Friendship Is Delicious.

Pretty, pretty freehand on the shoulders…

A neat switchup for the display plinth!

The auction market for high quality faces is pretty popular. “Do I hear 50? 50 gold crowns?”

Might want to do something about that fungal growth…

All it took was putting up some pallisades on a a rocky outcrop! Alone at last, the King of Nothing…

One of the creepier Grymkin concepts, the gunslinger Longfellow is beautifully executed…

“Hey, Agatha, enter a battlegroup!”
“Okay. One Warlock and three Warbeasts coming up…”

I love the reflective index on Sorscha’s armour

Given how tall Dracodiles are, just ponder the size of that mangrove tree…

There’s something to be said for the original battleboxes…

Someone’s eating well tonight…

And to think, this is just one of the photodumps… more to come as I get the pics edited!
