April Showers bring a new Target gallery! Okay, Paint The Target happens every month regardless of the weather, but it’s nice to pretend there’s some grander, cosmic force driving all, like, it’s a climactic inevitability. One way or another, it’s a new month, and we’ve got a bunch of contributions to show you. Our theme for April was nature, with an eye toward animal elements, be it with actual animals or animal themed garb. Let’s take a gander!
Ragnorok, the Loudest Man in Warmachine™, is getting his LOTR on with Dain Ironfoot, Lord of the Iron Hills. Oh, and some dwarf guy riding him. … What? Dain’s the dwarf? Well, who’s the boar then? Dammit, research team, what do I pay you for?
SimonS gets it. That said, Quaff and Scum aren’t names I’d be inclined to give mypets.
Torchlight John’s been collecting the Infinity Melusai. He has to find one more, and then convince them all to sit still in an enormous gauntlet.
Wallorspin’s autumnal Ghetorix could so easily have been converted to look like he was blowing bubbles…
Anatra is new to Target, with her newest Wolf Lady, complete with snow visors. The 41st Millenium fears her wrath.
DrQ interpreted the challenge as change, and did up Never-Lost Cola and Brave-Mode Candy, a new incarnation from the usual for his collection. Cola’s also a multitailed fox, so fits the animal theme too.
Fiendil’s entry is a reminder that Squigs are actually quasi-sentient fungus creatures. They’re both flora and fauna, just to confuse the biologists.
Kurt Hanson cracked open a Minicrate and submitted Di Wulfe in Sheeps Clothing. The Crucible Guard love their chemical concoctions. why not include a rogue alchemist in a onesie!
Muscat is an actual person, not a wine. This is not an actual panda, it’s a robot. You can tell by the way it’s not eating bamboo.
I’m not sure what fits the theme better. The bird, as an actual animal, or the Lord of the Feast, as a physical manifestation of a malevolent nature spirit. PeteF hits the target either way.
Seth paints his Bantha in single file to as to better hide their numbers.
Crawling out of the underbrush and snuffling the air in case there’s a prey animal about, this month’s winner is Fiendil! Gratz, sir! Drop me an email your mailing address so I can send you a thing!
We’ve had a month of warm, soft, cuddly things – sure, some are less warm, soft and cuddly than others – but lets go the other direction this month. Hard shells, armor, spikes, carapaces – bonus points if you have a Dragon Turtle! Let’s paint things that can take a hit by virtue of their protective gear!
Send in your pics of newly painted shinies to firstname.lastname@example.org by Noon EST, May 28th. Deadline is deadline, people. Once more, one random participant will receive a little somethin’ somethin’ in the mail. You want somethin’? You gotta submit! Don’t forget to include your online handle! Oh, and if you can make the pics attachments to the emails rather than inline, that’d help me on the formatting end.
