Paint The Target

Did everyone survive the weekend? No-one was abducted by any ghouls or ghosties? Everyone adhered to local directives and guidelines regarding masks and social distancing and the like? We’re into a new month, time to issue a new challenge, but first we need to check out the October submissions! The challenge was Rise, being it raising the dead, soaring to new heights, or I guess even baking a souffle would count. Let’s take a gander, shall we?

Channeling your best Games Workshop skulliness is an integral part of being a necromancer. Question is, who’s making skull print petticoats? Wil N might have some answers for us.

The Diamondbacks chapter of Space Marines got ’emselves a new ride, hovering a respectable 6 inches above the ground at all times. Once, the driver managed to get it up to 49 inches, after replacing the gravitic refractor lens with an opal.

You can’t defeat ChrisS’s Wolf Rider Champion, it has the higher ground! Well, the front half of the wolf does, at least.

Dicewraith returns to the series with a whole bunch of Tzeentch demons, including several screamers flying above their foes.

Apparently a bunch of folks took October as motivation to get whole squads done! DrQ slapped paint on Thundrik’s Profiteers…

While Fiendil went to town on the Corvus Cabal.

Lonelymonk got stuck into Widowers Wood, with a bunch of gribblies rising from the swamp…

While NotThatOne snapped out his Iron Skeeters! Yes, the pig is a skeeter. No, I don’t understand the engineering involved.

Also dabbling in more Malifaux, Lostie Ben took to the skies with the Nightmare Coryphee Duet

PeteF’s Sentry Stone summoned some splintery minions

And when it comes to tackling things bigger than you, Prophaniti1978’s Slayers always rise to the occasion.

Rising from the murk or rising to the challenge. Guess which one SimonS is?

Finally, we have ThatMacFella’s Frostgrave warband, including a summoned zombie and boar to keep things fresh.

After lobbing a d12 from a sufficient height, it fell. I mean, gravity wouldn’t let it rise anyway, so we just checked out where it landed. The winner this month is Dicewraith! Usual drill, sir, email me your mailing address and we’ll get something on the way to you next time we’re at the post office.

Pondering this month’s target, I glanced at my painting table and saw the model I’m working on at the time of writing. Deadly at a distance, it’s a reminder to keep out of melee range as we strive to curb the pandemic. Your target for November is Bullseye. Ranged attackers, or perhaps some whose shield has an oddly concentric design. I’m predicting an archer or two amid the entries…

Send in your pics of newly painted shinies to by Noon EST, November 28th. Deadline is deadline, people. Once more, one random participant will receive a little somethin’ somethin’ in the mail. You want somethin’? You gotta submit! Don’t forget to include your online handle! Oh, and if you can make the pics attachments to the emails rather than inline, that’d help me on the formatting end.
