Skull Island: Blood In The Water

SIX Unleashed LegendsSkull Island Expeditions recently unleashed (Hah!) a new imprint with Iron Kingdoms Unleashed: Legends, taking us into the wilder, mayhap less travelled regions of Western Immoran and indulging the feral side of fiction.

The first offering is Blood in the Water, penned by the notorious Aeryn Rudel, who does so like to write about creepy things. In this tale we witness the further adventures if Longchops and Lurk, the Gatorman Monster Hunter and Bog Trog Bone Grinder we met in the IK Unleashed Adventure kit. As cool as they both are I don’t think we can really describe them as Legends in Iron Kingdoms lore, but what if we add in a loudmouth braggart with a hunting rifle that’s been part of Iron Kingdoms lore since the original release of Hordes, a figure with a larger than life reputation and enough chutzpah to name his rifle Bucking Jenny?

Alten Ashley, come on down…

What follows is the tale of a small village in the Fenmarsh, where the resident Gnasir people are plagued by a great whalloping beastie that has claimed the lives of a number of their best and brightest. In desperate straits, the Gnasir have turned to strangers for help – Lurk and Longchops – to help them, and Alten Ashley just happens to be in a nearby town and interested in a new pair of boots…

What follows is an entertaining tale as the three realize just how far out of their depth (Hah! Aquatic reference) they are, and how swiftly the hunters are becoming the hunted. Given the recent cinematic success of Jurassic World, fans of the Iron Kingdoms might find something to sink their teeth into in Blood in the Water.
