A chill wind blows, and it calls your name… “Dude,” it whispers, for that is the secret name you call yourself, “What have you painted this month? Did you submit it? You could win a thing!”, and for many of you, you just sit and stare glumly into your hands, for you did not submit a picture of your painted models, but for some few, there is joy, there is glee, for they didsubmit pics of their painted things, and one of them shall indeed win a thing.
November’s challenge was to paint something cool. Be it by temperature, aesthetic, backstory – it just had to be cool. Let’s see our lucky participants…
From Dieson, one super cool multi-warjack kit, the Kodiak/Grolar, which he’s magnetized for bonus coolness. Also, snow on the base, cos he’s chill yo.
Big D got his Bolt Action on with a troop of US Airborne. The year was 1944. It was winter. We were out of K-rations and toilet paper, and for some bloody reason all of our feet had been glued to discs. O’Hennessy was the first to crack…
Dicewraith painted a cool model for a cool faction with one arm, making it a cool achievement. Oh, and he also painted using cool blues. Avalancher!
Fiendil’s Project Kaltewolfe trooper has a name I copied and pasted from his email, because I was pretty sure I’d spell it wrong.
NotThatOne continues trolly good times with the Northkin Shaman, a model that I myself painted not that long ago. Even his knuckles look cold…
Northblade decided to get cheeky and paint a campfire… I’m not sure who I’m supposed to be rooting for in this little tussle.
When I was young man, I carried a pack, and I lived the free life of a rover. From the Murray’s green banlks to the dusty outback,I waltzed my Matilda all over. Then in 1915, the country said “This month’s Paint the Target winner is Northblade.” It was all very confusing, but the dice don’t lie. Jamie! I’ma send you a thing! CUTS LIKE KNIFE. Winter chill cuts to the bone, sharp blades carve turkey feasts, and hobby knives stab into fingertips as we try to remove models from sprues… or maybe that’s me. Sharpen your stabby tools, my friends, December’s challenge is to paint slicers and dicers. Swords and knives, cloak and dagger… well, maybe not cloak, but you get the point. Paint up models armed with means carve through your enemies!
Send in your pics of newly painted shinies to firstname.lastname@example.org by Noon EST, December 28th. Deadline is deadline, people. Once more, one random participant will receive a little somethin’ somethin’ in the mail. You want somethin’? You gotta submit! Don’t forget to include your online handle! Oh, and if you can make the pics attachments to the emails rather than inline, that’d help me on the formatting end.
