When you’re known as “Beast Master Xekaar” it only makes sense that you’ll have some good tricks up your sleeve when it comes to Warbeasts, and that you’ll have, over time, trained up some pretty smashtastic beasts. Ooh, that’s a good name for a parody movie… Smashtastic Beasts and Where to Unleash Them… Anyway, I’ve always been a fan of the Basilisks conceptually. Drakes and Kreas make for a neat theme to build your army around if you don’t want to play with Cyclops all day. Well, now you can have an entire swarm of them with Chiron, Xekaar’s bet Heavy Warbeast basilisk, as the centrepoint.

Chiron is entirely resin. Big and scaly and light as… well, a whole bunch of feathers truth be told, but you get the point.

The component count is low and assembly is a dream, so let’s just have a look at the completed model from a few angles. You may  have noticed a tassel as a separate piece in the previous pic. It’s not meant to be, it just snapped off in transit :/

I think one of the things I like best about Chiron is the fact that he has a RAT6 POW15 magical 10″ spray… that gets autoboosted attack rolls when bonded to Xekaar. Oh, and it comes with Assault, and can add or remove Fury from an enemy warbeast.

A P+S16 Bite and two P+S14 Open Fist attacks don’t go astray, mind you, but it’s Chiron’s potential as a turret that makes me smile. Add in Counterblast as an animus for bonus sprays, because why not…

Lostie TheGreatGaspy decided Chiron needed to where Studio scheme armour. Behold his scaly majesty!

Chiron’s a May release for the Army of the Western Reaches. Claw your way across the Abyss and unleash scaly doom upon the soft and squishy peoples of Western Immoren.
