If you go down to the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise. It’s free slushie day at the convenience store! Damn urban sprawl diminishing our forests… but hey, limeade slushie… February’s target was to paint Monsters and Beasties of all sorts. Animals can be our companions, our steeds, or antagonists in our rpgs as three giant wolf spiders drop on the party of level one characters your coworkers are trying to learn D&D with. Don’t worry, they all survived.
In the meantime, let’s look at things with fur! Well, most of them…
I’m not sure what I find more intimidating – the glowing green eyes or the shiny pink nose. Chris W, you confuse me 😉
That moment when you’re taking your unspeakable demonic hellbeast for a walk and Mrs Miggin’s cat is across the road hissing at you. Darren’s response is to brandish an axe at it.
Meanwhile, Mrs Miggins’ cat draws a pair of swords and goes all ninja on you… Clearly, trained by Dr Q.
RAWR! It’s another bear! Brun and Lug are a very dashing duo, modelling couture fashion from the house of Dieson.
Now taking guesses on what species of frog Fiendil based his Croak colour scheme on…
https://iwargame.wordpress.com/ may not have a regular update schedule, but Inyoung does have a Dracodile…
And finally, it’s… wait, Eye of Truth? Yes, yes, I know I said “Animals and Monsters” and yes, I agree that Eye of Truth is a monster on the tabletop, but… …. …… sigh. Fine. The point of the series is to encourage people to paint, and I generally allow spurious logic, but COME ON, VoltRon!
Feathers, fur or fins? Shell or skin or scale? This month’s winner is… Inyoung!!! Gratz, you win something from the LH Prize Pool! Send me an address at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll get something in the mail for you!
So I’ve recently started up a D&D game with some folks from work. They’re pretty new to the world of RPGs, and we’ve got an elf Cleric, an elf Wizard, and a tiefling Paladin. Oh, and a dwarf Sorcerer as an NPC. Yeah, no humans. I enjoy playing humans in RPGs, but I totally get why people want to try to be something utterly fantastic. In honour of this little group of rpg newbies, exploring the non-human side of things, March’s challenge is just that – non-humans. Androids or Aaracockra, Robots or Rakshasa, whatever it is, it can’t be human.
Send in your pics of newly painted shinies to email@example.com by Noon EST, March 28th. Deadline is deadline, people. Once more, one random participant will receive a little somethin’ somethin’ in the mail. You want somethin’? You gotta submit! Don’t forget to include your online handle! Oh, and if you can make the pics attachments to the emails rather than inline, that’d help me on the formatting end.
