It’s a new month, Losties! Gdaybloke’s currently off gallivanting around GenCon, but that won’t stop us kicking off August with a new Target! July’s challenge was Patriotism in recognition of Canada Day and Independence Day, so the idea was to paint something with a scheme that represented a country, or a team, or even just had a flag. Let’s see what submissions we received…
Ben B totally threw aside his filthy Morrowan tendencies, and painted a red, white & blue Cyrenia!
Simon S submitted Universal Soldat, komrade!
I’m not sure exactly what nation Sean M’s Brewgrosh is loyal to, other than the Lords of Cthul, of course.
Chris S channeled the great white North with a classic Pureblood Warpwolf, complete with maple leaves.
Red, White, Blue – Drew’s Storm Cleric is bringing the thunder.
Dr Q took Ninja All Star’s Bakusho Mondai, chanelled GI Joe, and came out with Gung-Ho!
PeteF needs a second light to counter the shadows, but Kreoss’s scheme lends itself to a red & white Canadian interpretation, and heck, he has TWO flags!
Blood runs true, red and not blue (unless you catch it before it’s exposed to oxygen). The dice have spoken, and this month’s winner is Simon S! Gratz, sir! Drop me an email your mailing address so I can send you a thing!
Paint the Target is normally all about helping you work through pile of unpainted models you have at home, but with all the exciting new releases coming out at GenCon, we’re going to jump the tracks a little for your August challenge. Embrace the new and shiny! Your August challenge is to paint something new – something that you did not own prior to July 1st. No painting scheme direction, no thematic requirements – just take something you’ve picked up and git ‘r dun!
Send in your pics of newly painted shinies to email@example.com by Noon EST, August 28th. Deadline is deadline, people. Once more, one random participant will receive a little somethin’ somethin’ in the mail. You want somethin’? You gotta submit! Don’t forget to include your online handle! Oh, and if you can make the pics attachments to the emails rather than inline, that’d help me on the formatting end.
